About Lindsay
![]() I live in the most south westerly county in England, Cornwall; a land of stunning beauty and history. The Cornish coastline continues to provide me with many challenging photographic opportunities: hot, summer days, winter gales and beautiful early mornings when the air is still and calm. I have been caught by the incoming tide on many occasions when I've been carried away getting that elusive shot and soaked by the sudden heavy shower. I try hard to capture the image as well as possible 'in camera'. This invariably calls for the use of ND graduated filters and or a polarizer. However, all digital images and especially those shot in the RAW format, need to be processed. For me, this involves adjusting the levels, contrast and saturation until the image most closely represents what I saw when I pressed the shutter. Like all other digital photographers, I have to eliminate the dust spots in the lighter parts of the image: an inescapable evil of the digital age. On occasions, I will sometimes have to 'remove' small objects which detract from the overall image and which couldn't be removed at the time of shooting. I started taking pictures back in the 1980s with a Canon AV-1 and continued on and off until digital cameras started to become more popular. I don't use film any more and find that digital photography has given my work a huge boost. For the technical among you, I'm currently using a Canon 5D full frame camera with Canon 17-40 L and a 70-200 f/4L lenses. I use Lee filters and a B & W polarizer. I always use a tripod (cumbersome though it is)~ Manfrotto 190 ~ and carry all my stuff about in a Lowepro AW Mini Trekker rucksack. I hope you enjoy looking at Cornwall through my eyes and if my photographs inspire you to come and visit, so much the better! |
